All members are encouraged to help preserve the Hyannisport Club’s tradition by honoring its dress code. The basic cornerstone of our dress code continues to be based on “good taste” and respect for the Club and its members. It is the responsibility of each member to insure that all family members and guests conform to the Club’s dress code. If you have any questions regarding appropriate attire, please contact the Club Manager, the Golf Pro Shop or the Tennis Pro Shop staffs for assistance. The Club Manager, Golf and Tennis Professionals and their staffs are responsible for enforcing the Club’s dress code. Clubhouse, golf course and tennis privileges will not be granted to members and guests who are not in compliance with the dress code. No employee is authorized to waive these rules. If a member notices a potential dress code infraction, it should be brought to the attention of Management, and not addressed member to member.
The following clothing is never appropriate or permitted: Casual t-shirts and t-shirts with graphics, tank tops and all collarless shirts for men/boys, short shorts, cargo pants/shorts, sweatpants, any athletic attire other than golf/tennis attire, clothing with exposed midriffs, bathing suits, cover-ups and ALL blue and black denim clothing. Ripped, torn, faded or cut-off styles of any kind of apparel are also never permitted on the Club’s property.
Men and boys are to wear shirts with collars, slacks or appropriate golf or Bermuda style shorts. Men must remove hats when they enter the inside dining areas. Unless the shirt is designed to be worn outside the pants, shirts must be tucked in.
Women and girls are required to wear equally appropriate attire.
Golf Course
On the golf course and practice areas, only soft soled and soft spiked golf shoes are permitted. It is recommended members and guests use only non-aggressive soft spikes. Golf shoes must be worn on the golf course; therefore, sandals, dress shoes, or bare feet are not permitted. All hats and visors must be worn facing forward.
Tennis Courts
An ALL WHITE dress code is required with the exception of colored tennis shoes, and while white hats are preferred, color is allowed. Men must wear either collared shirts or collarless performance tennis shirts. Women’s attire allows collarless tops, including collarless performance tennis shirts. Running shoes (or any deeply grooved sneakers), tee shirts, tank tops which expose the midriff and running shorts are
unacceptable. All hats and visors must be worn facing forward.
Clubhouse
Informal and business casual dress is allowed in the Clubhouse. Jackets and ties are always welcome, but not required unless specified by a particular event notice/invitation. Collared shirts recommended for Saturday evening dinner on Deck. Proper golf attire is welcome for lunch, afternoons and dinner. In addition, for lunch and during the afternoons, proper tennis attire is also welcome in the Clubhouse. (Tennis attire is NOT permitted for evening dining.)
